The countdown to Christmas is well and truly on, but don’t panic! While this can be a stressful time of year, nail your festive shopping by getting down to some of these fab London spots.
Hackney, E8 4PH
Pssst if you haven’t visited this London gem yet, you know what to do. East London’s Broadway Market is full of intriguing stands packed with gifts just ready to find themselves under your Christmas tree. What’s more, your tum will be happy while you explore as there are plenty of amazing food stalls selling incredible dishes and fresh produce. Once you’re done, check out some of the pubs lining the market – the Cat & Mutton is our favourite!

Oxford Street is one of the more well-known for shopping in London, and it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t mention it! This super famous high street has more than 300 retailers to explore – we’re talking everything from designer outlets to department stores, and plenty of places to eat. Yes, it may be busy, but if you ask us, it’s not Christmas without a visit to Oxford Street. Instantly up your festive vibes by gazing at the gorgeous window displays, then venture through the many floors of your favorite stores.
This year, don’t forget to look up and see the sparkling Oxford Street Christmas lights dangling from thousands of twinkling stars. Top tip – you can name a star for a small donation in partnership with children’s charity NSPCC and their Little Stars campaign. Once you’ve done with the crowds, look out for a purple sign to St Christopher’s Place which is down a small alley – you’ll find some delicious cafes and great boutique stores, which may be slightly less busy.

Morning Lane, Hackney, London E9 6LH
For somewhere a little bit different (and certainly not as busy) we’d recommend visiting the new up-and-coming Hackney Walk, which is London’s first luxury outlet district. The outlet, which opened in September, is home to many of east London’s most emerging fashion designers. Here they have combined an international urban, luxury shopping experience with an industrial environment. As part of the evolving outlet district of E9, Hackney Walk offers an eclectic mix of iconic leisure, food and drink opportunities.

Southbank Centre Winter Festival
Belvedere Rd, London, SE1 8XX
Friday November 11 2016 – Wednesday January 15 2017
It just wouldn’t be winter without visiting a Christmas market – they’re always full of quaint and personalised, festive gifts (the perfect stocking fillers!). The Southbank has one of the best Christmas markets where you can stroll around the wooden chalets filled with festive food, drink, gifts, handmade crafts and treats. When you get a little nippy, you can warm up in the Southbank Centre which also has a great selection of shops ready for perusing! This is a great spot for somewhat reluctant shoppers, as there’ll be music by Million Dollar Quartet, an exceptional circus performance by BIANCO, and a number of exciting workshops and activities available.
