The original Soho-based Smoking Goat was revolutionary in London; exceptional authentic Thai food at an affordable price, all served in a stylish restaurant space with a cool vibe and no-reservations policy. This is the perfect place to crack open a craft beer or two with a friend, whilst sharing plates of barbecued goat massaman curry and a chicken heart skewer (or two – they’re only £1)!

Nominated as Best Restaurant Expansion of the Year by Eater London, it’s clear to see why; the extensive hunger-inducing menu, the odd liqueur list, and the trendy refurbished-1930s-strip-club setting. It really screams Shoreditch.
Smoking Goat’s menu focuses on ‘Aharn Glam Lao’ – a Thai phrase for food to eat while drinking. Large platters, side dishes and specific drinking-foods are all beautifully presented and bursting with flavour.
Start your night out with friends with Watermelon & Chilli Cocktails and Ox-Heart Skewers, followed by a few platters of Brisket Drunken Noodles, Stir-fried Squid Green Curry and Soya-braised Goose. The menu is exceptionally tempting, and it’s very easy to stuff yourself with the affordable prices – the most expensive LARGE platter is only £13) – so make sure you wear loose clothing and pre-book an Uber home!
