Notting Hill Carnival

The perfect way to spend your bank holiday weekend if staying in the big city… Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s largest street festival which attracts crowds of thousands, will return for yet another year of street-based shenanigans. It’s set to be jammed with party-goers, heavy sound systems and great food and, not forgetting, the famous parade which will be held at 9am on both days. Why venture out of London for beach-based fun when you can experience it right on your doorstep?! Over in Stratford, you can find over 2,200 metres of sand spread over the Olympic Park with views of the London Stadium and beyond. Albeit unconventional, this is a beach trip your little ones are sure to love! Deck chairs and umbrella shades will help get you into the beach life spirit. IAAF World Athletics Championships
The Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
This August, Britain will be host to the 16th spectacular summer of World Athletics – the biggest sporting event of the year. Over the ten days, spectators are invited to watch top athletes battle it out; from the 100 metres to discuss throw and pole vault – these few days will be roaring with energy. Summer Festival: Busk in London

Every Thursday to Sunday this summer, a variety of buskers will perform live for anyone to enjoy in Hay’s Galleria. Setup by the Mayor of London, this initiative sets out to make busking bigger, better and easier in the capital. Head down to discover and support many hidden talents. You never know, you may even hear the next Ed Sheeran in the making!

A free outdoor festival by the National Theatre has begun and is running until mid-August. The River Stage will host many different events, bringing you an eclectic combination of DJs, theatre, dance and workshops. They will also be hosting fun family activities, outdoor cinema and the very best of live music. So, when the weather is soaring, there will be no better place to enjoy the sun and have a boogie!
