London Living’s best blogs of the week

Friday has arrived. Now breathe!

If you’re already clock-watching at work and thinking of that chilled gin and tonic, why not have a glance at some of our favourite bloggers and their best articles, before you nosedive out of the office?

Notting Hill Carnival – whether or not you joined the bustling crowds and thumping music, embraced the flavours of the Caribbean and danced merrily in the sun, there’s a couple of great articles with a whole lot of lovely images from the festival, that we’d like to share with you all. Coffee Toast & London caught the festival vibe perfectly, with these shots:

The Londoner was also right in amongst the action with some super snaps of the occassion:

Our next pick comes from David over at Cabbie blog. We really enjoyed reading guest writer Stan’s account of ‘the perils’ of the infamous Knowledge back in the fifties. This is a really nice story and a good insight into the what it takes to start knowing London, inside out.  He learned his way round the streets on a bike; not a bad idea and a lot cheaper than driving!

The last pick of the week involves ourselves!

Can we do that? Why not…

Tuesday’s post, ‘Top 5 independent bookshops in London‘ has proved an immensely popular read over the last few days and has been thoroughly shared amongst London’s blogging community. A worthy pick, if you don’t mind us saying so. We’re for books!

We won’t rabbit on any longer, but if you’ve a spare afternoon this weekend, why not have a read of this article before checking into some of the lesser-known book stores that line London’s streets and having a good old dig around their shelves.

Have a great weekend!
