It’s Friday – the imminent bliss of the weekend almost is upon us!
Firstly though, we’re here to bring you our favourite London stories from the last few days. So before you bolt from the office and dive straight into the pub, set aside a little reading time in your Friday afternoon and have a glimpse at our blogging breakdown, to see if any of our highlights float your boat.
The Londoneer posted an article yesterday that is right up our street; entitled the ‘Top 5 Must-Dos in East London if strapped for time,’ this article provides a juicy itinerary, jam-packed with East End goodness for anyone with a spare hour in the day.
Whether it’s taking your taste buds on a trip down Brick Lane, or having a stroll through the gargantuan Westfield Stratford City, visiting one of East London’s 180 art galleries or heading to a market, this article will remind you of just how much there is on offer this side of London.
Our second mention is more of a heads up to a blog that we really love. Modestly titled ‘London Shop Fronts‘, this site does exactly what it says on the tin – documents the variety of, well, London’s shop fronts. Using just a simple layout, Emily Webber posts a different shop front each day, from cosy off-licences to vintage dry-cleaners.
It’s amazing how Emily’s pictures draw our attention to the sheer range and styles of all these little businesses in our city, with their bright colours and exuberant fonts enticing people inside. A great site, and well worth checking out.
Lastly, feast your eyes on Slice of London, another blog we have a lot of time for. Rather like London Shop Fronts, this site documents London through a lens. So, you can expect an array of amazing snaps that really catch the atmosphere of our ever-changing, fast-moving city. Through her blog, Nicola is dedicated to capturing the spirit of London with her photographs, and we think she does a sterling job.
