Make the Future at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Want to glimpse into the future? There’s an event with your name on it! Get down to Make The Future London in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and let your imagination run wild.
This fascinating four-day festival, held between 30 June and 3 July, will let us experience the bright ideas of tomorrow… today! It’s all about making the future by working together to build solutions for tomorrow’s energy challenges.
Across the globe, we are using more energy than ever before. The event, which is run in collaboration with Shell, recognises that innovative thinking is what’s needed to find alternative energy sources for the future. It invites inquisitive minds to come together to find answers and get inspired. To help things along, you’ll be able to check out the latest ideas and creative solutions from the world of science, engineering and design.
One of the highlights is set to be the Shell eco-marathon mileage challenge. This competition calls for hundreds of international student teams to design and build hyper-efficient cars that can be powered by just a litre of fuel! Students have a full year to design, build and test their vehicle before racing against one another to see which vehicle can travel the furthest… using the least amount of fuel!
As well as this, there’ll be loads of opportunities to explore amazing inventions and play with some awesome hands-on devices! Whatever your age, there’ll be loads of interactive activities for you to try while learning something new in the process.
Best of all, the event is totally free! There’ll also be a whole host of street food vendors and drinks suppliers to keep you fed and watered while you explore. See you in the future!
Visit between 9am-6pm on Thursday 30 June – Sunday 3 July, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, E20. Further information and full details of what’s on each day can be found on the event website.
