They’re off… again! Half term is upon us once more, and it’s starting to seem that our little ones are at home more often than they are at school! However, it’s the perfect chance to let them run loose in London and treat them to the endless activities the capital has to offer. Whether it’s a show or an exhibition, there will be something for each and every child. We’ve picked out five family activities below that you and your children can enjoy!
The Fantastic Word of Dr. Seuss at Discover Children’s Story Centre

Let your little ones discover the Fantastic World of Dr. Seuss as this exhibition at Stratford’s Discover Children’s Story Centre hosts beautiful illustrations from his funniest stories, including The Cat in The Hat and The Lorax. The hands-on experience will let them climb, touch and feel the fantastical world making it a truly immersive experience. The Robot Zoo at Horniman Museum & Gardens

Ever wondered how chameleons change colour? The Robot Zoo is another hands-on family experience that teaches visitors about some of nature’s cleverest phenomenons, using interactive robots to demonstrate how different species see, hear and much more. The Lion King

For the ultimate WOW factor this half-term, head to see a performance of The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre. Watch the characters from the family favourite Disney film come to life right before your eyes, with imaginative costumes and amazing special effects. There are 25 species of animals all present on the stage, from insects to fish, birds and mammals. You will be astonished by the herds of full-sized animals overtaking the stage! Dragon Babies – part of Imagine Children’s Festival

For your little budding musicians, let them loose at Southbank’s Gamelan experience. A session for your 3 to 5 year olds who will enjoy creating the sounds around them, through singing movements and percussion. There is no need for them to have any experience, just a keen interest in taking part! Tickets cost £5, you can book here.
