Hotel Cafe Royal, 68 Regent Street, W1B 4DY
Monday – Friday 6.30am-10pm
Saturday – Sunday 8am-8pm
Leave the hustle and bustle behind at the luxurious Akasha Spa. Located in the middle of Piccadilly Circus, you won’t believe you are in the middle of the city once you discover the calm and tranquillity that awaits behind Akasha’s heavy wooden doors.
Within a labyrinth of cool marble walkways and clean lines, you can enjoy a gorgeously lit 18-metre pool flanked by a sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi and a Watsu pool.
We can highly recommend their exclusive Elixir des Glaciers facial. This indulgent treatment feels amazing on your skin and uses a raft of Valmont’s luxurious Swiss spa products to cleanse, brighten and smooth away stress. Trust us – you’ll come out glowing! Or, why not treat yourself to a day Spa package? Prices start from £95.
Image: The Floatworks
17b St George Wharf, Vauxhall, SW8 2LE
Open Daily, 7:30am to 10pm
For something a little bit different (and a little bit futuristic) give the new craze of ‘floating’ a go! This new type of therapy involves immersing yourself in an Epsom salt water bath inside a dark cocoon-like pod (don’t worry, we hear these pods are quite big – nine feet long by seven feet wide in fact!).
So why exactly would someone bathe themselves in one of these for an hour? Well, the health benefits are said to be similar to that of yoga or meditation, leaving you free from any stress, anxiety and pain as well as enhancing your mood. If that isn’t enough reason to try it, check out their benefits page.
If like us, you are intrigued by this whole new type of spa, you can book an hour treatment for £50 – not too steep considering this is a revolutionary spa treatment! Fancy taking the dive? Book your first one here.

York Hall Leisure Centre, Old Ford Road, E2 9PJ
Monday – Friday 11am – 8pm
Saturday – Sunday 9am – 7pm
Spa London in Bethnal Green is located in York Hall – a beautiful building originally built in 1929 and fully refurbished and restored in 2005, meaning you can relax in a beautifully modern spa whilst appreciating its beautiful historic features.
This inspiring space includes two Aroma Steam Rooms, London’s oldest Turkish Baths (Tepidarium, Caldarium and Laconium), a sauna, ice fountain, monsoon shower, bucket shower, plunge pool, hammam and, last but not least, a relaxation lounge.
In London, it can be hard to find cheaper experiences but York Hall Day Spa is one of London’s more affordable luxury day spas, making it an ideal place to go if you don’t want to break the bank. There’s a range of 50 different Spa Experience Signature treatments and packages to choose from – so make sure to indulge!
Image: Aqua Spa
The Sanderson, 50 Berners Street, W1T 3NG
Open Daily, 9am – 9pm
Enjoy a relaxing day in this pristinely white and dreamy spa; a place to feel like you’re floating on clouds. The Agua Spa is at the top of its game amongst a lot of competition in London and that’s why it makes our top five list!
Located within the Sanderson hotel, this spa is only small but its all-white décor makes it feel so much bigger and extremely serene. Try the eucalyptus steam room and indulge in their tailored treatments. We recommend the Eve Lom Experience facial and hot stone massage for a full body healing experience. You’ll come out feeling like you’ve just woken from a dream. Once you come out, feel free to curl up in your private relaxation pod or dine on their ultra-healthy and delicious food choices.
Image: Chuan Spa
The Langham, 1c Portland Place, W1B 1JA
10am – 9pm
Finally, for the hottest ticket in town (and our personal favourite) head to Chuan Spa – London’s first luxury Chinese medicine centre. This urban oasis, based on traditional Chinese medicine, can be found tucked discreetly next to the grand Langham Hotel.
Our preferred treatment is the Obsidian Chuan Nurturing Ritual – the perfect choice if you’re looking to completely destress! During this treatment, your body is rubbed with hot and cold onyx stones then steeped in perfume. Afterwards, you’re given tea and fruit while you further relax around the spa.
The facilities here are amazing. There’s a 16-meter sunken swimming pool, a ‘vitality pool’, heated lounging chairs and a relaxing Himalayan sea salt sauna which glows. There’s also a Finnish sauna, steam room and a substantial gym – if you’re up for that.
