Mamalan

Give your mother the gift of dumplings this Sunday with a dumpling masterclass at Beijing streetfood-inspired hotspot, Mamalan. Learn how to mix, roll, fold and cook her famous dumplings, an age-old family recipe of her own. The masterclass will provide you with a full afternoon of fun which includes a welcome drink, an introduction to the step-by-step guide to creating your perfect dumplings, and (the best bit!) you get to sit down and eat it after. The price is £20 per person and you can find all the details here.

Columbia Road Flower Market
Columbia Road, E2 7RG
Sundays Only, 8am-3pm

With (hopefully!) moderate weather this weekend, judging by the beautiful spring sunshine we’ve been experiencing recently, why not spend a day out at Columbia Road Flower Market? Enjoy a lovely stroll with your mum down Columbia Road to pick a beautiful bunch, followed by a bite to eat at a quaint café like Café Columbia (no. 138) or an afternoon tipple at Printers & Stationers (no. 21A Ezra St). You’re spoilt for choice along this route.

Tate Modern: The Radical Eye by Sir Elton John
Tate Modern, Bankside, SE1 9TG

If art is something your mum enjoys, there is always an abundance of exhibitions dotted around London. A sure win for the mothers would be the Sir Elton John exhibition currently displaying at Tate Modern, showing an array of vintage prints and photography that have been collected by the man himself for over 25 years. Included in the exhibition are portraits of Matisse, Picasso and Breton. So, if you fancy seeing a private collection of Sir Elton’s art, book here.
