Winter is just around the corner – yes it may mean it’s getting cold, but we still have reasons to celebrate! After all, the chillier climes mean you have the perfect excuse to mix up your usual tipple and treat yourself to something warming and delicious. We’ve selected some of our very favourites (with and without booze!) so put down that cup of tea and get involved.
Queen of Hoxton, 1-5 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3JX
27 October – March 2017
This year, the Queen of Hoxton will be home to a Nordic Viking celebration – hosted by none other than a beautiful maiden called Skye and her band of noble savages! Although the daily affair promises to be full to the brim with tantalizing tipples and culinary delights, we urge you to get your hands on Skye’s famous spiced hot buttered rum served out of a horn. To try it for yourself, get on down to the winter rooftop which is open Monday – Saturday between 4pm-10pm until mid-March.

Winterville, Victoria Park, London, E9 7DD
November – December
Forget about mulled wine, mulled cider is the new winter warmer. We can’t think of a better place to drink a hot apple cider than at Winterville’s Bar Humbug – a cosy wooden lodge with an outdoor heated terrace and ski theme. Try classic winter drinks as well as the all-important mulled ciders, mixed with brandy, whisky, caramel, gingerbread and even rhubarb. Winterville will be open in the lead up to Christmas, but details are to be confirmed so keep an eye out. Trust us; you don’t want to miss out!

Anise Bar, 9 Devonshire Square, London, EC2M 4YL
Popular Indian restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen has an adjoining cocktail bar – and it’s definitely worth a try! The bar, called Anise, has a great collection of fruity and spice-infused cocktails perfect for winter. Although there are loads to choose from, we reckon you should head straight for their spiced rum punch! A smashing mix of Bacardi, passion fruit, apple juice and cinnamon, you’re sure to be left wanting more. If you think it’ll be up your friends’ streets too, they offer rum punch sharing options… You heard it here first.

If you fancy a more sober affair, head straight for Hotel Chocolat and never look back. Their Rabot 1745, found in Borough Market, is a hot chocolate like no other. Not only are their hot chocs divine, but they’re also a little bit different – flavoured with everything from chilli, gingerbread, white chocolate and nutmeg to the highly popular salted caramel and hazelnut flavours. There’s even a hot chocolate with rum for those who like a bit more of a kick…
