Running time 60 mins (approx).
Virtually Blackfriars is a light hearted and lo-fi take on the technologies that will shape our future for the kids (and big kids) that create imaginary worlds with cardboard boxes.
Take a wacky trip into the past as you join future – archaeologist Theia, armed with the trusty Walrus 700 – a futuristic pixel-detection device – as she attempts to collect wayward characters from the past. Track down Dickens, find Frankenstein and bag Boudicca on the streets of Blackfriars, it’s real-life minecraft crossed with Pokemon Go and a dash of Horrible Histories!
This bonkers mix of sci-fi adventure and quirky invention is brought to you by The Milo Wladek Co, who create unique theatrical experiences that blend interactivity with immersion and community engagement.
Virtually Blackfriars is part of Blackfriars Stories, an annual programme that celebrates the area’s culture, heritage and history supported by Arts Council England.
