Hands up if you feel there just aren’t enough hours in the day? It seems appropriate to quote Charles Dickens in his bicentenary week when he observed, “Old Time, that greatest and longest established spinner of all!…. his factory is a secret place, his work is noiseless, and his hands are mutes.”
One can only wonder what Dickens, one of London’s most famed literary observers, would make of the pace of life two hundred years after his birth, but the fact remains that one thing Londoners all complain about is simply not having enough hours in the day.
East Village sets out to solve this problem for its residents – by providing everything you could need in one place and staggeringly quick transport links. We’re here to help people to spend less time doing the boring stuff and more time doing the things they want to do.
To give you a taste of what it’s like to have more time on your hands, enter London Living’s Henry. Need someone to pick up your shopping, paint your spare room, weed your garden or file your papers? Henry’s time is up for grabs – all you have to do is tell us what you’d do with your day if you had more time. The best answer will win you Henry for a day next week, who will perform whatever tasks you desire (within reason please, Londoners!)
To enter our competition, please leave your answer in the comments below. You have until 12pm on Wednesday 15th February to enter. We will then announce the winner in the afternoon, and Henry will be at the winner’s beck and call the following day, Thursday 16th February. For a whole day you can delegate your tedious tasks to Henry, freeing up your time so you can focus on the things that matter. Good luck!
