Anyone else got a spring in their step despite the recent cold spell? Same. It must be because Boris has given the go-ahead for pubs and restaurants to re-open on Monday. Hooray! We couldn’t be more thrilled to get back to our favourite London spots albeit only the ones with outdoor seating. Bookings are now available from two households or groups of up to six people from mixed households (including children). Here are our top picks of the pubs and restaurants with gardens. Grab your coats, gloves and get a booking now.
Let’s go back to February 2020 and the grand re-opening of the Telegraph pub on Putney Heath. A newly revamped interior and an award-winning young chef meant that the venue was already receiving rave reviews. Well, we all know what happened next… This fantastic pub’s doors are opening once again and they are now taking bookings for the garden. Menus change daily depending on what fresh ingredients they can source. We’ve got our table, have you?

The Spaniard’s Inn, Hampstead Heath
The Spaniard is an iconic London pub sat at the top of Hampstead Heath. Mentioned in the works of Dickens, Byron, Keats and frequented by London’s most famous highwayman Dick Turpin, this pub has history as well as charm. Close to Kenwood House and a short walk from the bathing ponds it is perfectly placed for a day spent in and around the heath. The pub is open from next week and you can book a spot for drinks and dining in the garden. It’s a real gem.

Once voted London’s most romantic restaurant, Megan’s in Chelsea opens its doors for outdoor bookings next week. There are many Megan’s restaurants across the city but, OG Megan’s in Chelsea is a delight. If fairy lights and macrame are your jam, this is definitely the spot for you. Weekend bookings may be tricky to come by but there are plenty of weekdays spots available for an early supper with your support bubble.

Lina Stores, King’s Cross
Soho’s legendary Italian deli, Lina Stores, opened its King’s Cross outlet exactly 75 years after its Soho sister. The restaurant and deli on Stable Street brings together both offerings so you can eat delicious hot pasta at the restaurant and then pick up some antipasti or a sandwich to enjoy at home. For the first time in Lina’s history, the King’s Cross site offers breakfast, lunch and dinner so you could spend all day in their brilliant company. From Monday, reservations are open for lunch & dinner in the ‘Piazza’.
Opening times: Mon – Sun 12 pm – 10 pm
Big Mamma Group’s big restaurant Circolo Popolare (roughly translates as ‘people’s social club’) was dubbed the ‘hottest restaurant in town’ many times over when it opened in 2019. It’s still a fun place to be and perfect for that first boozy lunch with a friend who you haven’t sat down to dinner with since well, 2019.
Opening times: Mon-Fri 11.45 am – 8.30 pm Sat-Sun 10 am – 8.30 pm
