Do you love a selection of cheeses washed down with a nice glass of wine? Then, like us, you’ll love London’s very first Cheese and Wine Festival – popping up in East Village! We can’t think of a better way to start the month than with a weekend full of the very best artisan cheese and wine-tasting – and, would you brie-lieve it, it’s absolutely FREE to attend!

For one weekend, 1st–2nd April, a world of all things cheese will be brought to Victory Parade in East Village, E20, accompanied by plenty of wines and ciders. This festival brings you all of the best cheese, bread, chutney, jam and (best of all) chocolates from over 25 independent retailers across the city – all for free! So, whether you want to induldge in tasting, purchase as much as you can carry or you just want to wander around the stalls and take in the pleasant atmosphere, you can induldge in a cheap weekend outing in East London.
Here you can taste and learn about different cheeses and how they’re made, so you can care-philly choose your favourites! Wash these down with a sip (or several) of the special selection of ethically made, hand-crafted wines provided by retailers Grays and Feather, DVine Wines, M-Wines and Gastronicks. If wine isn’t your thing, Meantime Brewery will also be at the fair to supply some specially chosen beers and ciders – best paired with cheese-tasting! There will also be a selection of workshops and talks scheduled throughout the weekend where you can find your perfect cheese and wine pairing.

If you’re less savoury inclined, there will also be chocolate treats to appeal to those with a sweet tooth, carefully designed by handcraft chocolatiers Zara’s Chocolates and chocolate sculptor Paul Wayne Gregory.
Tom Gilliford, our favourite contestant of last years’ Great British Bake Off, will also be attending the festival to host several demonsrations and Q&A sessions alongside some other celebrity guests and food experts.
The question is, after a nice day indulging in cheese and wine, do you think you’ll have room for some more? The reason we ask is because Feest London and Tom Gilliford have a special treat in store to follow the festival – together, they have created an exclusive three-course Cheese Feest at Tina We Salute You in the form of a scrumptious, cheese-filled menu. To top the whole experience, you’ll be greeted with a delicious welcome cocktail made with Black Cow’s cheese vodka – too much? When it’s all over you’ll be bursting at the seams!
You don’t want to miss out on this one time event. If you go to the festival next weekend, let us know what you thought and please share any of your tasting favourites in the comments below!
