Don’t Miss The Nomad Cinema In East Village!

September 9, 2016

We love the cinema. There’s nothing quite like sitting back, relaxing and watching that film you’ve heard such great things about. But what we like even more is combining our love for great films with our love for London’s beautiful green spaces. Enter Nomad Cinema, a pop-up cinema coming to Stratford’s East Village next week!

The ever popular Nomad Cinema launched in 2010, and has become well known for popping up in intriguing and beautiful locations across London and beyond. It’s soon time for Nomad to hit the former Athlete’s Village, with four films to be screened in East Village’s Victory Park, and we can’t wait to get involved. What’s on?

  • The Truman Show on Thursday September 15;
  • Inside Out on Friday September 16;
  • Mad Max: Fury Road on Saturday September 17; and
  • When Harry Met Sally on Sunday September 18.

If you’re yet to see any of the above films – they’re classics, so it’s about time you did! Part of the fun of Nomad Cinema is the festival-like atmosphere, so even if you have seen the films, it’s still worthwhile getting down there and watching them al fresco. With tickets a steal at just £5 for Victory Park viewings, there’s no excuse not to get involved!

If you live in East Village, the viewings will be a super way for you to enjoy a fun event on your doorstep and meet your neighbours! If you don’t know East Village so well, or are yet to visit for yourself, it’s the perfect opportunity to head down and see how the Village has developed since 2012. Screenings in Victory Park will be silent, with wi-fi headphones for people to use to hear the action.

Not only does an evening with Nomad Cinema promise to be a good one, it also promises to do some good too. Partly run by volunteers, The Nomad gives 100% of its profits to chosen charity, The Sustainability Institute in South Africa. The charity is a sustainable living and learning centre based in Stellenbosch in South Africa, which is making a difference to the quality of live for parents living in the area.

While you’re in East Village, be sure to check out some of the incredible shops and facilities that have opened over the past few years. There’s loads to choose from, with must-visit shops including fish & chip shop Fish House and gelato shop La Gelatiera. Check out the full list here.

The screenings will take place in Victory Park, Celebration Avenue, Stratford, London, E20 1CB. For full details, check out East Village’s website.
