In some people’s opinions, it is the most wonderful month of the year! It is full of sparkle, wrapping up warm in front of a log fire, eating festive food and admiring window display after window display. That’s right, Christmas is well and truly coming. We have got a few ideas for you to make the Christmas feeling all month, or for those who need that extra push to get into the Christmas spirit…bah humbug!
West piazza, Covent Garden, WC2E 8RF
Nearest Tube: Covent Garden
Opening hours: Saturday 7th December 11am-12.30pm
The aim is to get around an obstacle course around the piazza of Covent Garden. However, this is not a normal obstacle course. Whilst we expect inflatables, a foam slalom and completing a jigsaw, it is the fact you have to carry a Christmas pudding the whole way round. It is all done to raise money for Cancer Research UK and you can enter a team of five here. Finally, between the race heats and the finals, there will be plenty of entertainment, including Zumba to warm you up for the festive race ahead.

Nearest Tube: Westminster
Opening hours: Check sailing times
There is something magical about travelling somewhere by boat. There is also something magical about the Kew Gardens at Christmas time. So someone thought of a great idea to combine them both and we think it is a must do in London! Board at Westminster Pier, and weave down a royal picturesque route passing the London Eye, the palace of Westminster, and some places that only a boat vantage pint will do justice. Once you arrive at Kew Gardens, you will disembark the boat and have a chance to walk around this incredible World Heritage Site. Tickets start at £22 for a round trip and the journey is approximately 1 hour and 30 mins each way.
