London Line Up: January

The New Year brings with it promises to make some changes and try new things. We’ve decided to embrace this feeling with some exciting adventures to take up this January. We have many shows, parades and festivals for you to look forward to. It’s time to start 2018 with a bang – don’t waste any time, just take a look at our line-up!

London’s New Year’s Day Parade

1st January 2018
12pm – 15:30pm 

If you’re feeling spritely after New Year’s Eve, get a head start on the new year by attending the New Year’s Day Parade! London will be celebrating the parades 32nd year with over 8,500 performers including Pearly Kings and Queens, cheerleaders, marching bands, dancers and West End performers all taking part.

The parade will be a 2.2-mile display travelling through the top landmarks London has to offer, beginning at the Ritz Hotel, taking in Piccadilly Circus, Lower Regent Street, Pall Mall, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and Big Ben, with grandstands assembled in certain places along the way to make the viewing experience that much better. Just arrive early to get a good position or you can book tickets for the grandstands here.

This year, 20 countries will be represented across the magnitude of performers and the parade will showcase an American-style spectacular of musicians featuring a number of bands, dancers, acrobats, clowns and floats twirl, march and drum who are flying over from the USA especially for the event.

Start your year with a bang and head down to Piccadilly on the 1st January by 12pm to join in the spirit of London and what is sure to be an incredible parade!

For those of you who like to start the new year with a fresh start, Re-Solutions are hosting a 30-day-long health and wellness festival at Juju’s Bar & Stage. There will be lots of activities you can immerse yourself in such as yoga and martial arts classes, motivational talks, workshops and mini-retreats.

Re:Solutions is all about taking some time out in our busy lives to look after our bodies and minds in whatever way we feel, catering for those who are looking for some chilling vinyasa flow as well as those who fancy attending an invigorating dance class to live music. This is something we can definitely get on board with!

To add to this festivals allure, there is also a Juju Bean Café stocked with delicious wellness smoothies and juices packed with the latest superfoods, as well as some delicious treats to kick start a healthy nutrition. Could this be any more up our street?

The rejuvenation festival will be returning for its second year with additional performances, parties and shows from collaborators including Urban Temple and Fat Buddha Yoga. Brighten up your January by attending this four-day festival of dazzling displays. Lumiere London is the UK’s largest light festival and will be returning for a spectacular second edition that promises to be ‘bigger, brighter and bolder’ than before!

There will be installations across London’s iconic architecture and streets taking place north and south of the River Thames. The festival is free to visit and welcomes everyone to view the stunning work created by more than 40 UK and international artists.

Lumiere London is all about giving a canvas to creativity and changing the way we think and feel about public spaces. Check out which installations are part of Lumiere London 2018, and discover where to see them in the six festival areas: King’s Cross, Fitzrovia, the West End, Mayfair, Westminster & Victoria, and South Bank & Waterloo.

Kathy Burke’s take on Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan is a must see in 2018. The comedy looks at the scandalous adventures of a lady in Victorian society after suspicion that her husband’s having an affair.

Jennifer Saunders will star as a scandal-hungry noblewoman, the Duchess of Berwick, alongside Samantha Spiro and Kevin Bishop in this star-studded line up.

If this is a bit of you, get your tickets before the New Year to avoid any disappointment!

Get creative in an immersive art-making experience featuring painting on easels, live DJ music and drinks. Sign us up!

Paint Jam London creates POP UP art-studios in unexpected, secret spaces for everyone to get involved and just have a bit of fun. All Paint Jam workshops have a painting theme from pop art, abstract, surrealism, Jackson Pollock’s splatter painting, graffiti, Bauhaus, life painting and more.

Get your ticket for the first event of the year on Saturday 13th January. This special paint jam night will be around the theme of sound & vision with an awesome DJ & Prosecco to get you creative juices flowing.
