New Year’s Day Parade
See in 2016 with this spectacular parade, which will weave its way through central London on 1January – more than 8,000 performers will take part in the celebration! The event is now in its 30th year, and with the theme of 30 Magical Years, it’s sure to be an extra special time to join the fun. You can expect dancers, acrobats, musicians and performances aplenty with an array of colour, noise and celebrations along the streets of London. Head down and join in!

London Boat Show

8 – 17 January
This annual boat show is returning, bringing the best in boating back to London for all you water-lovers out there! And it’s certainly a spectacular one – with water sports, interactive shows, simulators and a party night waiting to be enjoyed. The 10-day event focuses on the best and most innovative creations in the industry, so if this kind of thing floats your boat – make sure to get involved! We’ve even heard that Made in Chelsea’s Lucy Watson is opening the show this year.

14 – 17 January
Get ready for London to light up! Lumiere London is here! This festival of lights is coming and it’s going to be brilliant. With more than 20 artists ready to light up streets and buildings across the capital, you’ll be setting your sights on the likes of projections, performances, neon spectacles and many more illuminations to delight you. There’s so much going on, so head to the website to plan some dazzling sightseeing and prepare to see London in a whole new light.

The London International Mime Festival
9 January – 6 February
For all the theatre-lovers out there, kick off the New Year with some brilliant, boundary-breaking performances from the best of the best at The London International Mime Festival. In its 40th year, the festival is dedicated to showcasing new talent on the contemporary performance scene and it’s sure to be a pleasure to go and see!
