Dry January anyone? Maybe even…*shivers* Veganuary? If this brought along any nods or even remotely inspired you to think a little differently this January, well, then we’ve got a proposition for you. Skip the commitment and still reap some of the rewards, because Redemption Bar’s social revolution starts with your health. A concept based on dairy-free, wheat-free, meat-free and even alcohol-free (though not at all fun free!), the restaurant’s three venues promise to recreate the same social climate of your usual London night out, only this time prioritising your health.

Ambitiously professing ‘spoil yourself without spoiling yourself’, the Redemption fixtures are some of London’s healthiest restaurants. Headed by a raw vegan chef and a businesswoman, the forces of female empowerment channeled by the restaurant have culminated in this concept that challenges all conventions. Maximizing nutrition and minimizing all of the excesses that got you contemplating ‘dry January’ in the first place, Redemption wants to challenge even the most skeptical of meat eaters, insisting that they can convert them, if even just for a meal.
Proposing alcohol free beers as the norm and zucchini pasta as the Sunday roast alternative, the team behind Redemption has started the revolution with the right strategy. By proving all naysayers how varied, and truly versatile vegan food can be, they plan to tackle head-on all those concerns that a plant-based menu would equal limitations. If you’ve got the time, we recommend the finger-licking good pulled barbecued jack burger, a jackfruit meal that, quite frankly, puts pulled pork to shame. Follow that with a turmeric latte and we can guarantee that all of December’s damage won’t feel as shameful anymore.
Redemption promises that a vegan restaurant can indeed be the full package. Frequent events populate the schedule, all in all creating a completely new way of going out in the capital. If you’re interested to make a change this New Year, keep your eyes peeled for their events and you might just get inspired. Plus, you can also get a selfie with those angel wings at the entrance. Now you’re hooked.
