The Return of Roof East, Stratford

May 15, 2017

Roof East is back! And it’s bigger and better than the last. This year the roof has been transformed in its entirety, into a blockbuster space of social fun and games. Take yourself back in time to your childhood and enjoy a roof packed full of nostalgic experiences; from batting cages to roller disco, a hip-hop lawn, Roof Top Film Club and much, much more. So, don’t hang down low this summer… head to the rooftop for an activity packed day with a killer view of London!

Roof East has returned with a truly beautiful space for this summer. The roof is brightened up with art by Louis Masai, who has coloured the area with murals of endangered species in his latest patchwork toy series. There is also a massive shipping container which showcases a sustainable model for local food production from the GrowUp box.

By day, Roof East is a family-friendly spot that the younger members of your family are sure to enjoy. By evening, it’s a party zone! Activity highlights include the awesome Sluggers batting cages as well as hip-hop lawn bowls! Swing away your stresses and enjoy 40 minutes of play in the batting cages for £50 (for a group of four people). If you fancy giving it a go, book here. De La Bowl, a hip-hop inspired lawn, is also on the cards; get your friends along for a 40-minute session of bowling – the hip-hop is free!

With this amount of fun in one place you’ll definitely need to recharge, and what better way than to indulge with food from some of the best pop ups around? Jimmy’s Tapas Bar is there Thursdays to Sundays serving the finest of BBQ food, including chorizo hot dogs and Galician beef burgers. Also making an appearance are top notch pizza bakers, The Pizza Shack, who you can find on the roof from Tuesday to Sunday every week.
