The Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships Begin

March 22, 2017

If you’ve been anticipating this as much as us, you’ll know that the Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships for 2017 are starting this weekend! We couldn’t be more excited – can you tell? And in case you didn’t know, we’ve got all the news to catch you up!

The Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships will be returning to the French ski resort of Tignes, where there will be two weeks of racing from all the best names in the sport. The big event is starting this weekend, running from the 25th March to 7th April, and you won’t want to miss it!

Want to know which of the biggest British names will be going head-to-head to win Senior and Junior British Championship honours? The star skiers competing include Dave Ryding – who finished 2nd place in the Kitzbuhel World Cup earlier this year, Charlie Raposo, Laurie Taylor, Billy Major and Robert Poth competing in the men’s championships and, doing it for the girls we have Alex Tilley – who recently finished 20th place, Charlie Guest, Cara Brown, Yasmin Cooper, Jessica Anderson and Iain Innes lined up. Each one of the British competitors is a force to be reckoned with, and we know it’s going to be a worthwhile spectacle to watch. It’s the biggest event in the British Alpine Ski racing calendar!

The Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships has also joined forces with Disability Snowsport UK to bring back British Disabled Slalom and GS for a second year. This will be taking place on the 1st and 2nd April. Taking part will be gold medallists Millie Knight, with guide Brett Wild, and Menna Fitzpatrick, with her guide Jen Kehoe.

If you just can’t get enough, you can catch the Delancey British Children’s Championships which will be running after the main event. This is a great opportunity to see the future competitors in the sport who will be making their way up to the top, and we can hope to see them competing in the National Alpine Ski Championships in years to come. This will be taking place from the 3rd-7th April.
