A buzz word of recent times, Virtual Reality has been on the rise for a number of years, although its high cost has made it inaccessible for most. Until the VR Concept came along! The VR Concept delivers VR experiences to existing locations such as bars and pubs. It was founded back in 2016 by Anthony Nixon and Oli Lane when they met through Airbnb by chance. The result? The UK’s biggest chain of VR arcades across 4 pubs in London, delivering cutting edge virtual reality to us all.

Nixon’s local pub, the Four Thieves in the London borough of Clapham, saw the perfect place for their company to set up their first VR experience in. Now The VR Concept has settled into four separate locations, each offering their own personality as you play.
Consistently voted one of the best pubs in London, the Four Thieves in Clapham Junction is not only an arcade haven but is home to racing, crazy golf and an escape room – alongside its own micro-brewery!
The Aeronaut in Acton has returned after almost a year of rebuilding and is a much-loved West London pub which includes its very own 2-player VR room.
A little further afield from London is Worlds End – Brighton’s best pub VR arcade. After its full refurbishment in 2017, it is now host to the most extravagant four player VR arcade and is situated on London Road.
And last (but definitely not least) Lost Rivers in Elephant and Castle. Currently having some exciting construction work done to it, it will be reopening on the 26th September and we can’t wait to see what magic the guys at VR Concept will have pulled off!

18 months down the line and the VR Concept now makes up 50% of all VR arcades in the capital, seeing a wide demographic use this technology for the first time whilst being in a familiar and comfortable environment. This access to the pub-going population has seen an encouraging 50:50 gender split across players. Oli Lane, Founder of The VR concept says, “If you want to impress a friend, or a date, you’re not taking them to a gadget showcase. You’re going to a cool bar”.
So what games are on offer? At Four Thieves, there are three different games which range between single and multiplayer. Stand atop your castle and defend it from invaders in Archery (The Lab) if you fancy a solo player challenge, or fly with friends in Sky front – an interrupt game for up to 10 players! Lost Rivers, Worlds End and The Aeronaut also feature Xortex for awesome retro fun on a flying drone ship.
Prices and opening times vary per venue, but you can book ahead and browse costs at each location here. Make sure to sign up to the mailing list to receive information on latest events and offers as well as new venues and games.
