Yes, that time of year has come around yet again and we’re starting to think about how we could better ourselves in ways that are possibly a bit unrealistic… Every year we do it to ourselves and come out unsuccessful. So why not make the impossible possible this year and set goals you can actually stick to? Become victorious this 2017! We’ve racked our brains and come up with a few New Year’s resolutions you can actually stick to.
Buy two, chuck one
Don’t hoard, but recycle this year. I’m sure many of us have managed to get an almost entirely new wardrobe for Christmas and now, with the January sales on, we just keeping adding. So why not declutter your wardrobe and cleanse your mind? When you buy a couple of new items of clothing, give away one piece to charity. And be left feeling major this 2017 for doing a good deed.
Drink hot water
After the whirlwind of festive eating and drinking, why not replace those coffees and teas with just simple hot water? Among many other things it detoxifies the body, and is the most beneficial of liquids to drink. When you drink hot water your body temperature goes up and you start to sweat. This flushes toxins right out of you. Have the holy water in the morning and before bed. For optimal results, add a couple drops of honey and a squeeze of lemon.
Smile (especially on the tube!)
From all that hot water you will have been drinking, you will have fantastic hydration – and will have a fresh, healthy mouth! Water helps produce saliva which keeps your teeth and mouth clean. So, there is no reason that you shouldn’t lighten the mood this 2017 on those glum commutes in and not only feel positive, but spread positivity to all around you. Please! We all need it.
Weekday veggie, weekend meatie
Cut down on your meat consumption for the good of our planet. From reducing our meat intake we can put a stop to deforestation, spoiling of the oceans, reduce our chances of illness plus much more. Alas, we keep it realistic here at London Living and we’ll still fancy a burger by weekend. You can love and eat meat, but let’s contribute to the survival of our planet by simply reducing our intake of meat. If Arny Schwarzenegger can do it, so can you!
We are back at our desks again staring at our screens for hours on end. Don’t get back into that habit of going back after work and turning on Netflix straight away. Instead, pick up a book or magazine and set aside some time to improve your concentration and memory, expand your vocabulary and knowledge, and reduce stress. Reading about a new subject could give you inner peace and tranquillity. That’s exactly what we need after a busy Christmas and hectic New Year!
