Top Five: Summer Food Festivals

As the sun is shining over the capital, there’s nothing more perfect than to browse culinary delights in beautiful locations. That’s why we have hand-picked the top 5 summer food festivals in London this Summer. There is plenty of choice whatever your preferred food, and even choices that are little one friendly too!

Taking place on the iconic East Front Gardens, Hampton Court is embracing summer with a celebration of over 100 artisan food and drink producers. There will be live cooking demonstrations from top chefs and experts including Michel Roux Jr, Nadiya Hussain and Melissa Hemsley. You can book your seat and view the timetable here. Or alternatively buy some fresh treats from the stands and enjoy a picnic with a stunning backdrop of the Palace. The food festival is child friendly with activities on offer to keep Children entertained such as face painting and Circus School. So come and relax by the bandstand on Hampton Court’s very own deck chairs.

Founded in the US by the late Josh Ozersky, Meatopia was brought to the UK by chef Richard H Turner to bring a weekend-long affair of meat, drink, fire and music. Now over 10 years old, this legendary event for food lovers is a festival of high quality, ethically sourced meat cooked over wood and charcoal by some of the world’s leading top chefs. Meatopia is about more than just eating and drinking, with live music, DJ’s, informal workshops, chef talks and Craftopia – a dedicated craft beer hall hosted by Melissa Cole. All ages are welcome on the Saturday and Sunday and under 14’s go free, but Friday night is over 18’s only. We’re stoked! Buy your tickets here.

With the backdrop of the most iconic moat, foodies can unite for a two day festival of stalls and entertainment. Delicious food-to-go snacks from artisan food and drink producers is accompanied by a variety of classes to take part in; from naked cake decorating to Sourdough Workshops. For it’s fifth year in a row, Gin Bop is returning to Rivington Greenwich. An evening of fabulous food, great live music and lots and lots of Gin.
Brands who will be attending include; Beefeater, Tarquin, Sipsmith and Bluecoat. They will be serving up their very own signature G&T’s along with their gin-based cocktails. Food will be delivered from the Rivington Kitchen to accompany this famous tipple! Although tickets are available on the night at the door, you can pre-buy them here. Chin chin!
