At this time of year, we love nothing more than spending time outdoors and just relaxing with our friends (maybe with a drink in our hands as well!). We thought it would be a great idea to share our favourite outdoor hangouts so you can spend your summer doing the same!

Randy’s Wing Bar
28 East Bay Lane, Here East, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, E20 3BS
The first place on our list happens to be located at our favourite hangout of all, Here East’s Canalside! Randy’s Wing Bar is the perfect place to head with your friends, perfectly situated right next to the canal. Taking inspiration from owners’ Richard and Andy’s travels across the USA, the guys decided to open Randy’s Wing Bar with a range of mouth-watering sauces (we recommend you try the Gong Bao wings!). Check out their delicious full range here. The best thing about Randy’s in the summer is being able to lounge outside in the sun in the canalside deckchairs, with one of Randy’s many cocktails or beers in hand, whilst snacking on some tasty, sticky wings with friends! Is there a more perfect summer afternoon?

8 Southwark St, London, SE1 1TL
Borough Market is a great hub of activity situated under the railway lines at London Bridge. You can find everything from food market stalls to bars and restaurants, street food, music and the occasional BBQ! The market stalls feature traders from farmers, fisherman and bakers to more small-scale artisan food producers. Walking around the market is always enjoyable as it buzzes with energy.
If you’re looking to grab some food, there are plenty of bars, cafes and stands around as well as sit-in pubs and restaurants. The market space will be full of wonderful aromas that will leave you struggling to make a decision!

Floors 7 & 8, Stratford Multi Storey Car Park
Great Eastern Way, London E15 1XE
We warned you we can’t get enough of rooftop bars at this time of year, and here’s another favourite – Roof East! This place is a fun place to hang out with your mates, fitted out with deck chairs to make sure you’re feeling that summer vibe. Roof East has gone from old car park to an urban park, with recycled pallets, scaffold boards and even recycled decking from the Olympic Park footbridge. Ode to it’s past life as a car park, you’ll find 3 old cars here, planted with trees and shrubs, to add a bit of colour to this concrete hangout.
Roof East is an event space, open air cinema and community space which welcomes families and under 18s before 5pm on weekends. This year also brings a family-friendly playground with activities such as London’s first urban lawn bowls, a Rooftop Roller Disco, crazy golf and London’s only rooftop batting cage experience!

Earl of Essex
25 Danbury Street, London, N1 8LE
One of our favourite hangouts in the North of the city, serving some of the best beers, is the Earl of Essex pub. It opened up in Islingtion back in 2012 as one of it’s first brewpubs and quickly became a popular hangout for us and many of the locals too.
The Earl of Essex is the current home of Earl’s Brewery and offers an ever-changing list of the best local and international beers, that some of our more beer-fanatic friends are in love with. Paired with a great food menu and one of the best beer gardens around, you can’t really ask for a better summer hangout, can you?

Westgate St, London, E8 3RL
London Fields is one of East London’s hottest hangout spots. You’ll always find it full of people here, at any time of day. It is super easy to get to, located right next to London Fields Station, and is a great place to just chill out with friends and bring your own food or drink. It’s one of the only parks in London where you can barbecue legally, so take advantage of the opportunity over summer!
If you need any more reasons to go, it also has a permanent ping pong table, a lido and is parked right next to Broadway Market which hosts a delicious food market every Saturday and is lined with cool cafes if you’re not up to hosting your own barbecue! We’d also recommend heading to Pub on the Park right in the heart of London Fields for some great food, music and outdoor seating!
