Imagine Children’s Festival

First stop: Imagine Children’s Festival! Run by kids, for kids – and bursting with half term fun. Every day of the week at the Southbank Centre there’ll be activities and workshops full of imagination and entertainment for your little ones! This year the festival celebrates the centenary of Roald Dahl, exploring 100 years of characters, story and imagination. There’s free events, messy events, musical events, storytelling and much more. The Shard – kids go free!

15 – 21 February
For an experience that takes little imagination, head to The View from The Shard! This brilliant offer means that two kids (usually £20 each) can go completely free with each full paying adult. Head up to the observation deck and play the ultimate game of ‘I Spy’ to spot all of the capital’s greatest attractions. It’s time to take a trip to the circus of stories! This travelling story circus arrives in Shepherd’s Bush this half term, armed with a wonder of storytelling extravaganzas and events to keep children aged 2-11 years entertained. Discover Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Yet to visit the Olympic Park? For a fun family day out, make sure to explore the Stratford spot. There’s so much for kids to enjoy; you could try swimming in the London Aquatics Centre, a dance class at the Timber Lodge or a game of tennis at the Lee Valley VeloPark. While you’re there, you could also swing by George Irvin’s Ultimate Funfair which is open from 12-28 February.

London Children’s Book Swap

If you’ve got a bookworm on your hands to keep entertained, it might be time to let them pick out some new books and refresh their bookshelf for half term – without having to spend any money! London Children’s Book Swap is back for a 5th year, offering kids of all ages across the capital the chance to bring along their old books and trade them for somebody else’s favourites. A great way for kids to really enjoy reading, and a friendly place to meet other kids who love to read and share books.
