A Valentine’s Evening with the Stars

Possibly one of the cornier options on our list, but nonetheless worthy of being included, the Royal Observatory is opening its doors this Valentine’s to allow couples to share a romantic evening gazing at the night sky. Packages include a planetarium show, stargazing through their 18-tonne Victorian telescope, a glass of bubbly and access to the Meridian Courtyard, where you’ll get to straddle the eastern and western hemispheres across the famous Meridian Line. The Bootleg Club, notorious for their secret 1920s themed events, are kicking off their 2016 social calendar with a lavish Valentine’s Masked Ball. Held at the award-winning Stationer’s Hall against the backdrop of vintage décor, the dress code is black tie and ball gowns – so we’re expecting a seriously glitzy affair. Guests will be encouraged to conceal their identity until midnight when the masks can come off ready for party time! Entertainment will be in the form of the amazing Blue Harlem Swing band and food supplied by Smokestak BBQ.
