Here’s our weekly blog fix, in a nutshell for you; this is what we have been reading and enjoying over the past seven days.
London on the Inside is a must read for Londoners, and outsiders, alike. You know those blogs that just seem to have every corner covered and know about everything happening in our city? That’s these guys.
If you’re at a loose end, you haven’t got weekend plans or you want to know where you can play ten-pin bowling on the cheap, London on the Inside have all the information you need. Whether it’s music, style, social, eating or sleeping, or the low-down on what’s free (“or swag”, as they call it), this is a blog that really knows London inside out.
Time Out’s Here Now This post gets pick of the week simply for relaying one of the handiest London-centric ideas we’ve seen since Boris Bikes – the new, updated Google Maps with real-time tube updates. “All you have to do is click on your station of choice and it’ll ping up a little bubble displaying times and destinations for the next few trains, in both directions, for all lines.” Genius – and in perfect time for the hoards of visitors this summer.
Our last pick comes from our favourite London Cabbie Blog, whose article about British etiquette we found very amusing indeed. We all love a good laugh at the traditional stiff upper lip attitude we Brits often maintain on a day to day basis; David’s insight into the British way of saying one thing, but meaning another, rings oh-so-true. After reading this, you might think twice the next time someone says “sorry”…
