With the return of the TV series’ Humans and Westworld, everyone is talking about the future of tech, robots and even AI. What better time for the nation to celebrate all things gadget with a week dedicated to robotics? That’s right, in the last week of June it’s UK Robotics Week.

Spotlighting technology leadership in RAS, UK Robotics Week will engage schools, colleges and universities across the nation in developing the skills needed to drive the UK’s future economy.
International Robotics Showcase
A key highlight and centrepiece of celebrations during the week is set to be the International Robotics Showcase, held on Thursday June 21st at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool, Kings Dock, Liverpool Waterfront, L3 4FP. This will be a full day of lectures from high-profile speakers mixed with Robotics Hubs, cutting-edge demonstrations of the latest tech in AI, agriculture, transport and even robotics & ageing.

Challenges
As part of the UK Robotics Week, the UK-RAS Network will be holding a series of challenges for academics and industry progessionals, as well as for school children.
For the professionals, there’s the Surgical Robot Challenge, an international challenge for academics in the industry to showcase their innovations in Surgical Robotics, and the Moving Forwards: Care of Tomorrow Film Challenge, a challenge focused on looking at how robotics can positively change peoples lives in the future.
School children can also take part throughout this week, with schools entering the Social Care & Independent Living Robot Challenge, as well as the School Robot Challenge.
