At London Living, we like to remind you every so often that we are in fact the voice of the fabulous East Village.
And as the voice of East Village, we are amplifying all the things that we think matter most to the London community around us. One such ‘thing’ is the exciting Forman’s Smokehouse Gallery. Forman’s doubles up as a ‘riverside Restaurant and Bar specialising in Forman’s world-famous smoked salmon and seasonal British foods’, and an adjoining gallery, an ‘art project space overlooking the London 2012 Olympic Park, founded to provide artists with a high profile platform from which to introduce their work to new audiences’.
Given the location of Forman’s Smokehouse Gallery, nestled next to the Olympic Park between Hackney Wick and Stratford, you can imagine how excited we are that property gurus Delancey, part of the team behind East Village, are now sponsoring the gallery.
The venue really is something else. A 600 square metre space offering unparallelled views over the Olympic Park, literally a stone’s throw away over the canal, it features exclusive works from some of London’s most up-and-coming artistic talent.
We’re excited to tell you that we have some spots to give away to the private view on Thursday 1st March at Forman’s Smokehouse Gallery to ‘Of This Event I Cannot See the End’. It’s an intriguing concoction of video performance and installation art, where ‘artists test the boundaries of our earthly existence, everyday life, patterns of social behaviour and virtual reality’.
Following this cultural feast, our winner and a friend of their choice will join us for a fabulous dinner in the restaurant.
For such a great prize, the competition couldn’t be more simple: just head over to twitter, follow us, re-tweet our Forman’s tweet, and you’ll automatically be entered. You have until midnight on Sunday – and we’ll announce our winner on Monday.
So for a private viewing of some fantastic art, a cracking view of the Olympic Park and a dinner to die for – get tweeting!
